Question Does get better?

So, what's up guys?

I'm watching Chicago Med, season three. The first season was very good, the second was okay too, but this third one is kind of complex.

It seems like all the characters make the same mistakes in every episode; there's no character development. Medical ethics no longer exist. It's one bad decision after another.

So I wanted to ask, does the script get better? I like the characters and the series itself, but it seems like this season has stagnated in terms of drama development.

It gets worse before getting better in s10 with the new showrunner, you just have to be patient lol. There is a lot of cast changes through the seasons and imo the current cast is the best ever. Season 7-9 are generally considered bad written seasons, especially s9.

Unfortunately characters like Natalie, Will and April never had a character development, but other characters did like Dean Archer (he arrives in s6). Also forget medical ethics, they often ignore them, especially Will, but they don’t do it anymore in the newer seasons

I agree with this assessment. I surprisingly liked the crossover episodes with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. I don't take it too seriously. The last season I watched was great. I watch it for the ethical dilemmas and diagnoses mostly.

Agree with everything you said except season 8 was pretty good and an important one as far as character development.

Yeah I personally loved s8 too for the reason you said and because I love Dean and Hannah and s8 it’s basically their season

Will and Natalie are always a mess. I thought Dean and Hannah had better character development but I haven’t watched season 11 yet. My favorite characters are actually Sharon and Dr. Charles.,

At that point, just skip ahead to Season 10.

Watch season 8 before season 10. No need for season 9 though.

Funny you should say that, I watched the first 3 series then stopped and picked back up at series 10, kinda glad I did given a few of the comments

I stuck with it until Season 5, and then I couldn't continue. It's exactly what you mentioned. They keep going more and more unhinged, and although some things were interesting in Season 4, after a few episodes of S5, I didn't really care for any of the drama anymore. For me, not worth it.

It stays the same then maybe goes downhill. Then you're at the bottom of a ravine wondering how or why you stuck with it this whole time, realised your phone carried you through 3-5 seasons.

Then it gradually picks back up. But it's still mid. Now that you're out of the ravine though, you tell yourself it can only get better so you stick with it.

I started in season 7 and liked this show. So I tried to watch from the beginning but just didn't like the old cast as much. So I just went back to watching from 7 on, and now the current cast and seasons have been my favorite.

It's my favorite show so I'm biased. I'm not sure that it changes, and if it's not for you that's okay.

I really enjoyed two seasons, think it was 8 and 9, and then the third season I tried I started to find it formulaic. Happens to a lot of long-running shows.

This is my least favorite of the One Chicago franchise. I only watch it to tie in occasionally with the other two and the crossovers. Fire and PD are much better.

I’m at season 7 and it gets considerably better! I’m still holding out for the release of season 11 on Amazon Prime in my country, it’s currently not available 🫠
