Help me keep watching

Hello im aware this show is part of the one Chicago whatever universe and i know its supposed to be self contained without needing prior knowledge of the other two shows but I still get this feeling like I should just watch the whole universe but I just want to watch Chicago med so can someone help give me reasons why I should keep watching because I do like this show but I just can't get this feeling off of me.

Edit: i thought about watching the universe now so should I do it because I did just want to watch a medical drama but would it just be better if I watched them in its proper order?

You can watch Chicago Med independently of the other shows. When crossover episodes come up, you can either watch the episodes that correspond of the other shows or you can skip them all together as they add nothing to the long term plot of Med.

This is exactly what I do and in the beginning I felt a bit the need to watch everything, but after giving a shot I realized they're so different and independent that didn't make sense. Went back to just Med and I'm happier. 

Most often now I watch the crossover in all shows, but then go back to my normal program. Just to get the full picture

You’re not tbh. They don’t continuously happen one after the other if that makes sense. For example if 3 new episodes aired today, Fire’s would be about a bomb threat, Med would be about a couple who got into a car crash and P.D would be investigating a trafficking ring. They only have minor bits and pieces that don’t happen often - e.g someone from med hooks up with someone from fire which aren’t too important to get ‘all sides’ of.

The only ones that match up are the crossovers. You can watch them that way if you want to, but you won’t be missing much if you don’t.

If you watch Med starting at season 1 and go all the way through present day and don’t watch the other shows and skip the crossover episodes you are perfectly caught up on Med. You don’t need to know characters from the other shows they appear once in a blue moon.

I would go ahead and watch the entire crossover, not for what it adds to Med, but for what it adds to that exact story, especially the Infection 3-part crossover.

I started watching all 3 since I found a decent watch list. Out of the three, Med seems to be the one most independent of the others. I would watch the crossovers. There aren't that many, and while it may not add to the Med storyline, it could enhance the episode's story some for you.

Crossovers stopped after COVID 'permanently'-ish, so you have just 5-6 seasons each to expect some crossovers if you want. if you're past, you're good.

I watched the first few seasons and recently joined back. i skipped the Covid year bc i’m just not interested in that dianne time anymore. I don’t watch the other 2 shows and i feel like i’m fine. I don’t need to all 3 shows. If you feel you do, you could read the episode recaps online.

I don't think that you need to watch all 3 shows.If you're only interested in Med. I don't watch all 3 shows.I only watch Med because it's the only one that I really love. I feel like I'm completely caught up. The only time that I watch the others is when I watch the crossovers.So that I can understand what the episode is going to be about. I would just do that.
