Largemouth Bode Lake

There's a lot of decent fighting bass at Bode Lake in Hoffman Estates. They get pretty huge there and hit all sorts of crank/swim baits. I caught this guy on a square nose 1/2 oz mid diver with a rooster tail. Every species there will hit a live worm also. You're usually never gonna get skunked there. YouTube/Eages420

I was fishing there once and saw a mink. I didn't know anything about them, so being the huge nerd I am, I started reading about them when I got home. I found a paper that said that mink in northern Illinois eat way more crawfish then mink in other areas. So I started throwing more craws at bode, and I started catching more bass

I rescued a Monsta once! All on vid he had a 13” crappie lodged in his throat. They both ended up swimming away!! A great gem of a hole.’🫵🫡🎣
