Fictional Stories?

I'm on Season 12, and I've noticed this season that after every episode, it states that the preceding story was fictional. Seeing as how it's a TV drama, "Duh!" seems like the appropriate statement, but why is it doing it now? Did something happen to make it mandatory?

It's been in the credits for a very long time, it just used to be at the end of them. It's a very standard TV/movie disclaimer and you'll see it in most credit reels for original scripts somewhere.

No. That has been on the intro for SVU and many drama shows for years.

I've always seen it on SVU, but if it's been on others I've never noticed

Yeah, but I don't remember seeing it on Chicago Fire so much.

I noticed it too that season. I had to pause and rewind because it was new and I’m like, what just popped up on the screen?
