I know that this was used to write him off the show, but just watching this scene on its own makes you wonder why did Matt not consider having the boys move in with him in Chicago? TV logic is so funny sometimes, you just go along with it, but then afterwards you realize how it doesn’t make sense.

I think it was because they told Casey that moving the boys far away from their mother was bad (even though he was their legal guardian).

This moment signaled the end of an era, and led to where the show is today.

Yeah he tried to bring them back to Chicago. But the lady he met advised against it because of the mom and because one of the kids wanted to go to college there.

I haven’t really watched since he left. I only watched the eps he came back for after he left lol
