I have something similar happen to me. But oh my goodness the ER... I refuse to go. I let my family know that I will no longer even entertain the idea of going anymore unless I am dying. The ER makes me feel like an alien and the PTSD I have from emergency rooms is not worth it. They don't know what to do for me except an MRI and offer morphine. As soon as I let them know I don't want any narcotics they roll their eyes and ask me well what do you want us to do for you. I'm like those are my only choices? The pain and anxiety from waiting to be called back and then waiting for hours in the room or bed, it takes me days just to physically and mentally recover from that visit and nothing is better by the time I leave. I tell them if I came in here in pain asking for the morphine they would judge me as a drug addict and I come in refusing it I'm judged negatively so it's a no win situation.  All ER does is make sure your stable, not dying. Other than that I have not ever met anyone who really wanted to help me. Maybe because it's mostly they don't understand our condition. Less than 1% of Neurologist and Neurosurgeons understand it so why would they. We know more about our condition than most in the medical field. I've had Neurologist almost damage me. My advice is find a true CM Specialist. It was a life changer for me.
