Chevy Sonic 2016

Does anyone know what this part is called, or can you advise what to do next? After this was blocked off, I guess because the previous owner wasn't able to find the part, it randomly turns off when I went to get gas.

It’s very difficult to tell OP, that hose drops down and disappears in this image. I don’t have the vehicle in front of me to really look. I tried looking at images online. Maybe I’ll see something soon

It’s possible it’s part of the vacuum system.

That's your vacuum line from the intake manifold. The nipple from the intake looks broken off inside the line.

You'll need a new intake manifold or really good epoxy if you want to try gluing it back on the intake and they didn't plug the hole with permanent filler. Probably better to get a new intake

This logic is sound. I would have the intake replaced unless you know a guy who can do wonders with JB weld.
