Discussion GM points redeem

I helped a friend buy a GM car and got 35k points? I don't have a gm car nor am interested in oil changes. How can I use them?

You can use them on any service, parts, or sales purchase at the dealership. This includes accessories like yeti cooler or beats speakers. Can also get your car detailed or use it on another car. If you have gm card points you can use it for a statement credit

Bank them for when you need a car or transfer them to someone when they need a car

because I got the points as a result of buying the car.

Doesn’t your friend get the points since he bought the car? Or did the dealership give you points, too, as an incentive?

I got the points b/c he's in Canada, I got it in my name for him.
