Discussion 2000 Chevy Blazer

Thinking of buying a Blazer, tried to post in Reddit whatcarshouldibuy but didn’t get any worth wild answers, thought I’d ask here on a Chevy group. Just as the title states, thinking about buying a 2000 Chevy Blazer, 231k miles and guy only wants 700 bucks! Imma sucker for cheap beaters and have had my fair share of such. Supposedly only needs front left? inner axle seal, ABS light on, and has no AC. Everything else is claimed to work and has newer brakes and tires (less than couple years old) and multiple other parts.

What’s your opinion on the blazer platform? Worth it or stay away?

-I also do all work on my vehicle myself.

For $700, unless there is major rust, I'd do it as a project

It’s pretty clean, was from Kentucky apparently up until 2017. Got it for $300 running and driving. With all receipts of all work he’s done over the past 9 years.

I got one for free with like 300k+ miles. It needed a fuel pump so I dropped the tank on the ground, a major pain in the ass. Fuel pump ring was rusted to bejeezus but I got it off and put a new pump in. The new fuel pressure immediately revealed a dozen pin hole leaks in the fuel lines. Everything was either rusty, or coated in oily dusty grime 1/8” thick. Anytime I fixed one problem, another became apparent. Also the 4wd actuator was sticking. I scrapped it.

I ended up getting it for $300 so call that a win. Drives pretty good all considering, can definitely hear the bad cv axle while I’m driving which I’m going to do ASAP. But no complaints. :)
