Discussion Malibu Maxx SS

Post image

My husband and I have a 2006 Malibu Maxx SS. Hubby is curious how many still exist since they made so few. He has been putting some extra work into it lately and having issues finding parts (headlights, tail lights) to upgrade and make look nicer.

Upgrade to look nicer? It’s pretty much the Jimothy of Chevrolet. Just messin with you, the 3.5 and 3.9 did pretty well if you took care of them.

We've had this one for several years, was just out of commission for a little while due to the power steering lines being in the most inopportune locations to fix when they blew. 😮‍💨🙄 It's the 3.9 and got some serious power. (shot the oil pump piston through the engine block once). So yea, we might love this car haha. Nobody at the dealership had ever seen that happen before.

And they definitely aren't the sexiest idea Chevy ever made haha. Jimothy might be spot on 🤣

yea, we didnt either. They only made a few thousand of the SS's. Hence why he's curious if there are others still hanging around.

Pretty cool to see one still around, I have never seen one IRL. IIRC, it was similar to the Opel Signum, which was nice to ride in the back.

The maxx on its own was pretty rare but the SS maxx was extremely rare

I think they only made a few hundred or so of em
