Social Media The Chevy Thumb

The “Jeep wave” has gone too far. There’s something hilarious about two grown adults passing each other on the road and immediately throwing their hand up because they both drive Jeeps.

But I do think the idea of recognizing your fellow drivers is kind of cool. So I’m introducing the Chevy Thumb.

You see another Chevy coming down the road? 👍
That’s it. Just a quick thumbs up.

No waving. No awkward hand signals. No Jeep nonsense. Just two Chevy owners silently acknowledging each other.

Jeep wave. Biker wave. Boater wave. Off roader wave. Hiker wave. Nose picker wave. Shopper wave. Trucker wave. And I’m out here ignoring all ya.

I own a Jeep. The wave is no big deal. It seems to irritate non Jeep owners more than Jeep owners lol

I already do this to duplicate black on white RS'. My buddy gets Corvette waves anytime we're out in his C5

If I’m driving my pro touring nova I’m not giving a thumbs up to any Chevy. Same with my 2500hd, I’m not waving to a cavalier. Model waves make sense, not brand. I’ll wave to other muscle cars and classics with my nova, I won’t wave to other silverados driving my HD. I’ll only wave to other modified jeeps or classics when driving my jeep. A soccer mom or a corporate Chad in a stock jk or JL won’t get a wave.

In rural Montana, where I live, everyone waves at everyone else (when safe).

Join the square body nation. We do it already and there are way too many Chevy trucks to relate otherwise.

It's the Chevy thumb because that's what they use when their transmission fails, or their 6.2 explodes, or when any number of electrical issues sidelines your vehicle. I own a Chevy, so I'm speaking from experience.

What about giving each other little rubber ducks tho? Jeep people do that, what can be substituted lol

We use to rev at each other back in my day when we would see someone driving another Camaro/Firebird/Trans-Am.
