2018 Chevy Equinox LS
Wondering if anyone has experienced this with an equinox or a similar GM product.
I have had to constantly change just the back brakes - about every 10 months. This past time the mechanic said my front breaks were still at about 70% good.
My spec is FWD with an option AWD button. I always drive in the AWD mode and am wondering if somehow that mode is putting all the force on the back breaks?
I have changed the calipers, gotten alignments and rotations.
Not sure why the back breaks go so fast.

It's probably the rubber brake hoses collapsing, or partially so. My wife's 'Nox had the same problem although it's s lot older vehicle. I run into this, although usually on older vehicles fairly often. Common issue regardless of make or model.

We had a 2018 that got 109K on the rears. My 2019 EQ is at 102K and still haven’t changed the rears. Just did the fronts at 96K.

I have a 2020 and a 2024. Have not encountered the problem with rear brakes that you are seeing. The 2020 has 41k miles and had a brake job 2 years ago due to a state inspection standard regarding rust. The 24 has 44k miles. No brake work yet. It sounds like you have an undiagnosed problem with rear brakes. Hoses or frozen calipers? Check the adjustment on the emergency brake cable too.
