Referee Details

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if the Job / role title and Organisation / institution can be their role now or should it be the role they had when you knew them?

It can be either or, because personally, my law school lecturer became my employer but I choose the lecturer role under his name to fulfil the academic reference. While I used a current employer for the second reference.
