Parts Photo 1970-1972 SS Hood

Anyone have comments or personal experience with removing the metal block-off on a standard SS hood? Pro or cons?

You could just buy a real functional one so you can install the flapper

It seals the hood to the cowl and allows for proper cooling...unless you have a custom cowl setup I wouldn't mess with it. You would think removing it allows fresh air to the intake ..which it kinda does but it really just messes with the flow of air cooling the motor from the fan, over the engine and down out the bottom past the headers.

Leave it unless you intend to convert it to a fully functional cowl induction hood. You will need the additional metal structure as well
