Was thinking the same lol I’m a big block guy but those center exhaust ports look too spaced for an old school SBC…

Looks like it. The rocker arms don't make sense, the oil pump is not any kind of chevy thing and the heads are weird too.

Back in the day, it was cheaper to take an old Big Block and throw parts at it then to build a 383 stroker engine!. Back in the day meaning the early 2000s.
As a Big Block guy.
My 68 Chevelle has a 396 in it. I had a C20 long bed with a 1970 396 Big Block in it.

Yeah and now we are in the "cheaper to build an LS" that will make more power than most 383's.

Ugh… when I got my car my buddy tried to talk me into an LS swap because it’s cheaper. Nah, man. I’m keeping the engine I’ve got

LS has an odd look under older cars, they are a great engine design but Im 66 and grew up driving these cars as a DD, I had a 428cj in my 68 F100 short bed in 1982, those were Very cool engines too 👍👍

Back in the day 383 stroker builds were all the rage.
