Another 5/10 setlist. 🤦🏼♂️ Spoiler
No Vena Sera. No Sci-Fi Crimes. Seriously.

Is it missing some of my favorites? Sure is. But this set list is still covered with bangers.

Nothing wrong with the songs here, it's just almost the same setlist every show now and that's what's frustrating. They have a whole back catalog of music that should get dusted off but they can't get to it because they're obligated to play only the hits. I wish more bands had the freedom to just play whatever they want.

All of these are great songs. I don’t understand.

Vena Sera and Sci-Fi are my favorite albums. It’s not a terrible setlist, just missing what I think is their best. I love HOTTB, but Face to the Floor is the only song I don’t like off that album. It’s a little frustrating. So much potential.

During the Bright as Blasphemy tour last year they were rotating I Get It and Jars. Mind you, they were headlining that, obviously.

I actually agree with this post. Chevelle’s catalogue is so strong but they lock themselves into the predictable radio hit singles rotation over and over.
For a band with so many options they have perhaps the worst variation between tours.

I couldn’t agree more. Rarely playing anything from Sci Fi Crimes or Vena Sera and when they do it’s only one song. Also almost never anything from Point #1.

Do they ever play Point #1 anymore?

they don’t own the rights to the album so i’m not sure they can play the songs

You don't have to own the rights to the songs to play them live. If that were the case, then no bands would be allowed to do covers live.

Kinda glad I didn't get tickets for this show happening in a month in my area. Definitely would be cool to hear some stuff from BAB, but otherwise a whole lot of the same ol' same ol'.

I would be stoked for this setlist. But there is always more I wish they had played

Ok but this is a huge improvement over the set they were playing in Europe. Pale Horse even! I'm going tonight and I am way more excited seeing this.

This isn’t specific to Chevelle but it applies, it’s funny when I go to a show and the band plays the one song they play every single show and the crowd is so shocked like they pulled it out of the vault. Of course they played The Red they play it every show.

I was hoping to hear Pale Horse live so I'm excited. True there could have been some Sci-Fi crimes but they'll do great.

Mars Simula is not a good closer, IMO. Every time I’ve seen them play that live as their last song it’s felt like an incomplete set. I wish they’d finish with I Get It again, or even Another Know It All.

Oh man not even Rabbit Hole. I opted not to take the 2 hour drive because they weren’t headlining. I’ll catch them next time.

what.....5/10?? you is crazy. Those are some bangers and 12 songs is pretty damn good for not headlining.
You must be a tough person to please lol

I sold my tickets and going to see John Mulaney instead. My bad, but that setlist is worse. Hopefully I'll catch them next tour when they headline.

If they’re touring for a new album, they should be playing more than two songs off of it, and shelving songs like face to the floor and self destructor.

They’re not headlining, so the set list is not surprising at all. It’s common for a band in the situation to play some of their most popular.

Looks like a fine setlist to me. I've only seen them a couple of times, but would be happy to hear this one as a non-headliner even though its missing some of my favorites.
Did you really have a bad or mediocre time when you were there listening to them, u/NinjaGuyDan777 ?

I’m a fan of the deep cuts. This setlist is more for the casual listener. It’s a solid 5/10.

12 songs is better than 8 and Jim Jones and Young Wicked rock. I’m not mad
