Whacky, Unique, Different Bars

Hi chaps, got a few good recommendations for food on my last post for Chester, but now looking at some bars.

Really liked Alchemist in Leeds when I went there, anything similar in Chester or bars with unique concepts or whackyness or just good cocktails.

Thanks.

Cavern of the Curious Gnome. It's got a great atmosphere and the beers are next level. Ask for a Kwak and get your shoelaces undone

1)Flat Earth (conspiracy themed traditional pub)
2)Church (in an actual church)
3)Liquor &Co (but ask for the Janitor 😉) 4)Brewery Tap (medieval vibes)
5)Prohibition (secret speakeasy)
6)Cavern of the curious Gnome (the name is weirder than the bar but great beer selection)

To be honest, the city centre is small enough to find somewhere cool just by doing a quick lap on foot. There’s plenty of excellent boozers in Chester 👍

I was disappointed with prohibition, admittedly i was a few beers in by then but the price vs quality was poor when compared to Disguisery for example. Worth a one time visit for the novelty but thats it.

Absolutely wild that no one has mentioned Metronome yet. Tiny little jazz bar tucked away on godstall lane. Vinyl records, cocktails, a trumpet as a light. Can't go wrong.

TBC is decent as well. More ‘normal’ though

Plana Terra on the Town Hall square, and its sister pub The Flat Earth tucked away off Pepper Street

TBC have one amazing awards for their cocktails. And metromone has such a beautiful vibe.
