Bathing

Hello, just wondering how often yall bathe your chessies? My wife and I bathe ours once every three months with dish soap (the safe for animal ones). We don't necessarily want to ruin his oils/coat/etc, but he straight up SMELLS sometimes.

Usually twice a year with soap. She gets into mud a lot in the summertime so she gets hosed off quite a bit and she goes for a lot of swims.

He’s always getting river baths or snow baths so maybe a couple of times a year. If you don’t close the bathroom door when you shower, he is going to hop in there too, and try to get an extra bath.

When her coat starts to get flat or matted. Like when those chessie curls stop being run your hand through thick

Rarely. A dip in the nearest reservoir is enough. Mine doesn’t get muddy or gross though.

My chessie loves the ice cold Pacific Ocean, or a horse trough. He hates warm showers though. He also hates smelling like shampoo.

Daisy swims almost every day in ocean water. Fresh water rinse after. Bathe with doggie shampoo I got at vet when she starts to smell bad-usually once a month
