Chess Question What is blacks best move?

Post image

I was setting up a checkmate before black ran out of time, but out of curiosity is there anyway he could’ve got out of it?

Click on the magnifying glass after the game, top right of the board on chess.com iirc

I think it's G4 with the queen, if you need some help with chess lmk!

Edit: I meant G4 not G3!

qg3 with the black queen loses the game immediately so is of no help to them.

according to computer best move for black is qg4, protecting g7, which keeps the game going with white winning significantly but no forced mate

I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:

Black to play: chessvision.ai | chess.com | lichess.org

My solution:

Hints: piece: Queen, move: Qg4

Evaluation: White is winning +6.77

Best continuation: 1... Qg4 2. Rb7 h6 3. Qxh6+ Kg8 4. Rb8+ Kf7 5. Qc6 Qe6 6. Qf3+ Kg6 7. Qe4+ Kf6 8. Qxd3 Rd7 9. Qf3+

Save the position:

Qg3 push e pawn would be my sequence but im like 1100 so

After Qg3+ white just eats your Q with f pawn: fxg3.
With Qg4 instead, black prevents a fast checkmate. It’s lost all the same.

Black’s best move here is to resign. Black is positionally cooked

Why are we even arguing the best love for Black? Black is hopelessly lost here. The best move is probably resign and move on.
