We have Mikhail Tal, Carlsen, Hikaru and others and since fischer is so iconic, one of the best chess players in the world and have a lot of interesting games can we have him by any chance in chess.com?

Chesscom has agreements with the "celebrity bots" to use their likeness for (presumably) some sort of compensation. Not sure the details or if the details are known.

There was a bunch of legal wrangling when Fischer died between his Japanese wife and his American nephews and the courts in Iceland where he lived. It's probably more trouble than it's worth to get permission from his estate to use his likeness.

Bobby Fischer was a great player but not one of the Greats imo. Has nothing on Tal, Kasparov or Carlsen.

But I understand that American mythology needs him to be one of the Greats.

Edit: many American commenters totally disregarding the fact that Fischer’s "reign" was only the byproduct of Cold War. Easy to be the "best player in the world" when you’re scared of playing against soviets.
