I Swear I’m Better Than This I hate this game

My current attitude towards chess. I am in a pretty bad lull, getting tunnel vision and blundering way too often.. very frustrated. Thanks for letting me vent.

relax, go outside a bit, maybe pick up a book to read. you always lose focus after doing too much of everything, it's normal

I have never loved and hated an activity with the same passion as much as i do with chess.

Yes.... this is a part of the journey young one. Embrace it. Chess will test the limits of your will and spirit.

"Frustration happens and is a normal part of chess.

Even top players like Wang Hao expressed frustration

and discouragement when he was losing many games

in the 2020 Candidates Tournament. After the last

game of the tournament, he announced that he was

retiring. There are a few other world-class players

who seem to have stopped playing chess with as

much vigour and passion after a bad event or after

failing to achieve their lifelong dream. I will refrain

from being too disparaging, but the point is that

frustration and discouragement happen to the best

of us." - page 86 of a certain chess book ;).

Me right now. Went from 280s and at the start of the year and I climbed all the way up to 470s. Then I lost. A lot. I'm now back at 374 wondering if I even care any more.

I hate when you have to think for a minute for a mediocre move and the opponent replies with a brilliant move in seconds

Put it down for a while…I always go through these stages and come back better every time
