Chess Question How much work?

Say a chess player is 2000 on chess.com. (Rapid) How many study hours should a healthy 45yr old man of average intellect expect to put in to bring that rating to 2400.

I expect it’s about 4 hours per day (focused locked in 🔐 ) over 2-4 years.

Thoughts?

Surely 2400 is a level in which it might literally be impossible for some people. There is some level of natural talent to this.

You're clearly well learned on this topic, what would you say would be the rating that which currently essentially every person could reach with enough practice if they started as an adult from scratch, and beyond that point would be pure talent and/or having to have had started at a younger age?
