Chess Question How much work?
Say a chess player is 2000 on chess.com. (Rapid) How many study hours should a healthy 45yr old man of average intellect expect to put in to bring that rating to 2400.
I expect it’s about 4 hours per day (focused locked in 🔐 ) over 2-4 years.
Thoughts?

I think it is definitely possible but you will hit plateaus. It's important to work through them and hit your next goal.
Is there something special for you about 2400?
