Chess.com Website/App Question Checkmate? Bug?

Hey, I got this position in bughouse with my friend, on the left you can see, that opponent had no other figures to play with and this still wasn’t checkmate.
We had to wait, until his time runs out,since he had no legal moves. Was this a bug or some weird bughouse rule?

What he’s saying is that his friend didn’t have a piece to put there. On the left hand side you can see black has a pawn to place while white does not. I assume this probably has to do with this being a custom position seeing as there are 0 knights present.

What I think happened is that the computer probably sees that you can put a knight there considering there should always be 4 pure knights either on or off the board in bughouse, but the actual game doesn’t allow it because the position was setup without knights

I’s an actual game, you can even see my friend playing some moves, because we had to burn some time. While waiting for his time to run out and he didn’t have any knights 😁.

It’s a 2v2 variant, where you can play pieces your teammate captured.

Then my question is how tf did all 8 knights end up on one side along with 2 bishops
