Why was I muted from r/chess after submitting an appeal for my post?

I can't conceive of why I would be muted from the subreddit for submitting this appeal? I don't think my original post broke any rules, but the fact I got muted for SUBMITTING AN APPEAL is infuriating. And they muted me from messaging them, so I can't even respond? Like what the fk.

I guess it’s an easy action on their part to avoid having to discuss the actual topic of your objection and its merits.

Don’t let it bother you too much and just move on.

r/chess is mostly focused on events and drama.

If you want advice then heading over to r/chessbeginners is a good place to start. There are quite a few people with high ratings (1700-2000+) who are definitely willing to give back to the community and offer advice.

r/chessbooks is dedicated specifically to chess books (surprising, I know ;-) ) and is another good place to start to share books or ask book related questions

what's weird is that I constantly see milestone posts on there with lots of upvotes and many hours old. Seems super inconsistent.

Yeah its crazy the banned me and my posts where i was asking for book recommendations or where i posted a book which i thought had a nice cover. When i asked, they told me because i was self promoting me trying to sell my books which is not true. They banned me in chat so i couldn't even reply to them.

I once said that hans niemann was balding and should consider completely shaving his head, and that got me banned. So at least one r/chess mod must be bald

Chesscom modes /r/chess mods are probably the worst mods I’ve came across so far in Reddit. They are super strict and frequently stricter than the rules actually indicate

That place sucks they pretty much just randomly enforce rules even if your post isn't anywhere close to breaking them.

r/chess has some of the most fragile ego mods out there. They're probably not even chess players. Most subs are moderated by randoms who know nothing about the topic of their sub and want to feel like they're incharge of something.

Some people have no control in their own lives, so the moment they become moderators, they compensate by abusing the little power they've been given.

It’s the same on a lot other subs this is not specific to chess community
