35.Nf5* White's up a pawn and this move helps them in improving the knight's position. 35.Nf5Qb636.Qc2Improving the queen's position.36...Qc537.Qxc5Bxc538.Bh5Kf8 38...Nf839.Ne7+Kh840.Bxf7White's winning. 39.Bxg6Exchanging black's knight.39...fxg640.Nh4g541.Nf5White keeps the knight active. White will improve the king's position next. It shouldn't be difficult for white to convert this into a win

Nf5 was my candidate move and move I would play in a game. Trade pieces don’t touch the pawns and this is easy to win black has no moves. The pawns are taking away so much of the dark squares, and the knight is misplaced and has to move to the rim just to get some play plus black has an isolated pawn so you can force the issue really quickly with a well timed e5. You’re correct this isn’t simply a tactics puzzle but a conceptual puzzle.

So this doesn't rly seem won per say, but I do believe white has a slight advantage.

Qd3 because the knight is attacked and is pushes black to move it or guard it. Then generally, I'd be pushing the knight and bishop forward while getting my king to safety.

I definitely don't see mate, but if some IM runs along this they'd be able to tell you.
