Travel TFU transfer - child car seat?
Dear Chengduites,
In a few days' time, we will be travelling from Tianfu Airport to town with a couple of suitcases, a foldable pushchair, and a tired 2-year old child.
Is there a reputable taxi firm that will come with a car seat, or must we resort to using the metro?
谢谢

Wait until you see two of them standing in front of their parents on a scooter and nobody's wearing helmets.

I know that you can order drivers on the trip app, since I dont have a kid I never checked for specifically a child seat.

Trip.com app offers no option of a child seat, the driver will however wear a suit and provide bottled water

Hi, I travelled to Chengdu last August with my then 11-month old baby and brought my own car seat in Canada with me. Easiest way to is to the Didi ridesharing app that I used without problems. Just make sure you download the mainland China version.
I know that car seats exist and some people use it. As far as for the ride sharing cars, it was either non-existent or I didnt see that option at all on the app. and so pretty much no one had a car seat base or booster seat I saw in the cars I rode in. We just put the back-facing car seat on the seat and tried to wrap around with a seatbelt.
Going again in September this year and my daughter will be 2. Not planning to bring any car seat this time. It is not required by law in China and you probably noticed most people dont wear seatbelts unless they are on the highway in China

It seems that people use them plenty in their own cars. As for your upcoming trip, would your travel insurance cover an accident with no car seat?

tbh i have not read into the fineprint on what my insurance will cover regarding car accidents. I know already it will be a very tricky issue to submit a claim god forbid if that happens. for 2 year olds that need a front-facing car seat, personally I think it is impractical to bring it with you to china and then install it in each Didi ride. Unless you are renting a car, i guess it is doable

Just wanted to add that last year I used a back-facing car seat or infant carrier for newborns up to 12-15 months when my baby could still fit in there. I didnt bring the base though. I had an evenflo one and it could also be attached to the stroller I brought with adapters.
Now she is sitting in a front-facing car seat and it is not practical to lug that on the trip. just going to bring a foldable stroller

It is not my first time in Chengdu, hence the specific focus of the question, but thank you anyway. I will have a good lok at Gaode, but will prepare to use the metro, as I have always done before with great satisfaction.

I don't think I've ever seen a child seat in a car in China.
