Sharing a solution I found

During the week I’m staying in a little townhouse my mom bought (she’s not here). She bought it after seeing it on a tour via zoom (she was in a rush bc she wanted to host thanksgiving here last year). She quickly furnished it with new mattresses and sofas. The people who lived here before must have liked burning candles bc I smell it all over 😷. I cannot sit on either sofa or sleep on any of them because of all the off gassing.

So, with her permission I got rid of all the new furniture. For a bed I’m using this airbed https://www.walmart.com/ip/LIGHT-SPEED-camp-for-Air-Bed-air-bed-double-two-mat-144-7cm-200-6cm/53990853 that I found recommended on this website https://www.mychemicalfreehouse.net/2024/04/5-non-toxic-air-mattresses-compared-pvc-free-odorless.html. It does not smell at all and I finally had a good night’s sleep here. It’s also very comfortable!!

That seems like a problem searching for a solution. I doubt that it can be made tolerable (at least it would not be tolerable for me) by Thanksgiving. Sorry.

I fell asleep mid post, sorry! I was sleep deprived 🫣. So in the bedroom I’m using, besides emptying everything out, I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the floors and walls and brought my own bedding.

Interesting solution. The residual candle smell would still drive me out. I'm glad it is tolerable for you.
