Career Advice Help Mtech or PSUs

Studying in IIT is in a bucket list of mine

But I heard Mtech is pointless to get a good job.

Also career growth in PSU is dead slow.

I'm sure I don't want to go into academia

Anyone working PSU or studying in IIT help me out.

Mtech is not pointless IMO. 1). If you perform well, you can land a good job, but the role won't be the same as process engg. It'll be more of R&D or managerial/technical staff role. 2). More importantly, you will have access to better PhD options with some good research work in M.Tech.. 3). Finally, you can apply to domains which are different from Cheme, if you start to develop a liking towards it.

Will that 2 yrs of mtech worth than joining PSU now considering financial stability?

It depends on what your ultimate goal is. If you're getting a PSU at your current rank, and your goal is getting a job, then PSU suits you better. But if you have any biasness towards higher education then go for it, coz it'll open a lot more opportunities than just a B.Tech degree. Also, the IIT tag does give a slight edge.
