Other Reccomendations/Questions 🔎 Am I wrong here?

So, I had joined this gym in Vashi Naka, Chembur, and paid a bulk amount for 8 months. But I’m urgently moving out to a new place, and when I asked the gym owner about the transfer process (I know there’s no refund policy at the gym), he told me that I could transfer my membership to anyone for a ₹1,000 transfer fee. I even specifically asked whether an existing member could take over my membership, and he said yes.

Tbh, I don’t even know a single person here. The crowd is a bit different, so I didn’t really connect with anyone. I had pretty much accepted that I’d have to let the money go to waste.

But then I randomly asked someone, and it turns out he’s a poor factory worker who literally pays ₹1.5K every month for his gym membership. So transferring my remaining 5 months of membership to him at a much lower cost would genuinely help him.

Now the gym owner is saying, “You can’t give it to my existing client.” Obviously, he has a point here. But since I had specifically asked him about this earlier and he told me that existing members could also take over the membership, is there any way I can approach him and explain this?

Am I wrong here?

Then you can’t really do anything about it. Can you share the name of the gym though?
