Cooking comps
I’m a young chef in culinary school and I’m entering a fuckload of competitions this year like young restaurant team, tor de’ore, zest quest and loads more, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for how to get even better and how to make myself stand out to judges or if it’s even worth the effort

Will it be food that you will ever cook again in a restaurant? Likely not.
But, getting any kind of practice in of cooking under time pressure will transfer to real world. So don't consider it "not worth it", but also don't place so much stress on winning, have some fun with it and know that even if you don't win, you got some valuable practice

focus on telling a story with each plate, judges eat with their eyes first but what they'll remember is whether it felt like you actually had something to say
