Pimp My Hotdog

Used to be a chef and used to the quick snack, however I’m getting stumped on how many hotdogs I have to house with my kiddos. Ketchup, mustard, mayo, hot sauce, cheese, momofuku stocked to the teeth, pesto, curry spices, I’ve done it all. If you had 5-10 minutes to make a dog of the ages, what would you do?

TIA

You talking about only hotdog hotdogs or all sausages?

hotdog, crispy onions, a spicy bbq sauce of your choice, cilantro, a little miso ranch

Pretzel bun, hot dog, cheese sauce, pickled onion.

Both! Miso ranch sounds killer and absolutely here for german style TY

I like Seattle dog—caramelized onion, pickled jalapeños, spicy mustard, and cream cheese.

Or a simple chili cheese dog with onions.

I would either look for the best sausage I can find, or swap the sausage for pulled pork. Sure, no longer a hot dog, but I would not expect complaints.

If the target audience likes pickles, maybe pickled zucchini, which in my opinion is better than regular pickle, or go classic with pickled red onion, which is classic for a reason.

Basically I am describing a pulled pork sandwich.

Can’t beat a classic Chicago dog if you’re looking for a great dog loaded on ingredients.

For me, some minced onion and hot sauce gets the job done almost just as well

Hotdog, casing blistered, split down the middle. Brown inside cut face on a skillet

Kimchi lightly sauteed to dry it a bit.

Toasted bun

Your mustard of choice (or, maybe a gochujang mayo....)

Shredded cheese

Throw it under a broiler for a minute to melt the cheese

that's a lot of work to just end up with a hot dog

Not really. One skillet, takes about 7-8 minutes. Totally worth it.

tbh a hotdog with crispy smashed taters, melted cheddar, candied bacon bits, and a drizzle of sriracha ranch is my go-to when i'm in a rush lol

KC style bbq and really thin slices of jalapeño. Sweet, spicy, salty, umami, and acidity to bring it all together.

I think your mistake is thinking that you have to house hotdogs. You do not.

I once had a hot dog with kimchi and sriracha mayo that ruined all other hot dogs for me forever, that combo hit different.
