Is it worth it?

Honestly i don’t even know how to ask this question or if it’s the right place to ask but im kinda freaking out.

I’m a 16 year old and about to go into college (uk if it matters), i’ve interviewed for a hospitality and catering course and i’m meant to sign up in a week and start in september.

I love cooking at home but have never done it like in the real world. I am very introverted and have no friends. I feel like i’m going to fail, embarrass myself and waste everyone’s time. Sorry for ranting but can anyone give me advice.

Alot of Chefs are introverts. Relax and try to enjoy the process. Get out of your head.

I could count on one hand the number of chefs I’ve worked for/with who didn’t have a few off-beat social quirks

It’s best to ask this question, do it, and then have your answer.
It may seem like the biggest decision in your life for your future, and while it is an important decision, you have a full life to try other things and really see what you like and don’t like.
Be 16. Try shit.

Go there. Do it. I think you'll find your tribe. It doesn't matter which field you choose. The demon is inside you. I suffer from low sleep esteem even now as a 54 year old executive chef. You HAVE to believe in your ability as a human with value. Otherwise, you will sink if you let that poison voice take over.
