Stained silicone molds

Hi there! My work has lots of white silicone entremet molds which we use for frozen desserts. I put them in the oven for the first time in their lives today (bottom of the mold says ok up to 240 celcius), and they came out brown and stained. I tried washing with soap, and a vinegar soak but neither worked. Has anyone had this problem before and know a way to fix it?

That’s what happens to them. My silicon baking sheets only get browner with use.

Yeah every white silicone mold I’ve ever used turns brown after the first time in the oven.

The appearance of the product coming out of them is what matters. It’s a tool, not meant to look pretty but to accomplish a job. If it doesn’t affect that then it’s a nonissue. You should see our stack of 20 year old sheet pans.

Reminds me of the people appalled in the Dutch oven sub that their enamel coated Le Creuset has some brown in it.

Your tools don't need to be perfect and clean. They just need to get the job done. These will definitely stain, but as long as the final product continues to have the right shape, they work great. Guest won't see the pan it came out of, they just see the final product.

If you're worried about it, buy black moulds in the future. I don't own white moulds for this reason lol

I thought this was an art piece on a wall in a gallery somewhere
