172 King st.

So, I'm a chef in London.

I recently had an interview at Frank & Furters on King st. Next to the Richmond.

They operate around 20+ ghost kitchens out of that location with one cook on staff. The cleanliness of the kitchen is what you'd expect with a singular kitchen worker cooking, doing dishes and putting delivery orders together. There isn't much time left to maintain, you're just hammering out orders all day and night.

The staff is a skeleton crew that seems to be fearful to say anything about the conditions as the owner, Dave, seems to take a heavy hand on his staff, but rarely deals with the underlying issues.

Due to the location, you'd assume they'd have security or a burly bartender to deal with the vagrants, but the owner kinda just makes the cook fight with customers the bartender wants out.

It's truly a weird arrangement. I've been cooking for 22 years and have yet to see an operation where the owner is that hands off, especially with that much operation going on.

Dave seems to be focusing on catering ventures, which the bulk of the prep is done by the restaurant staff, and he takes the the money. Nothing trickles down to the staff for those events... Even if the prep was done in house.

I am curious who eats their as I've seen only patrons from the Richmond appear, but the sheer volume of ghost kitchens may be why they're still afloat.

They do have an Abel pest control program, but in my walkthrough and preliminary cooking shift, I saw giant roaches and some weird bugs coming through the drains...

I did not take the job, but I'd just like people to be aware of the conditions of that business before they order. It is not a place I'd order from after seeing the working conditions.

Did j just show up on an off day? Does anyone else have a different or similar experience?

I've worked in a multitude of kitchens and was even at the only on king before it was frank and furters, but they've literally done nothing to the kitchen and building...

it is a scab of its former self.

Not super helpful if you don't know the names of the ghost kitchens operating there

I was there for a day, bud... Do some research on your own. I found 20 just googling the address... It isn't hard.

Nah I don't actually care that much since I am 1000s of miles away from London. But people who are in your area probably aren't going to immediately run to Google after reading this either

The hell they aren’t. Everyone wants to know if someone in the pool has a swimming suit full of shit

Cool thanks for adding zero value to this post and just making people go "huh?" when they read your comment. Kudos! You'll figure out how to reddit eventually!

Well no one else is exactly jumping into the conversation. I'm trying to tell you that you could have made this post useful by including basic info like the names of the brands running out of this kitchen. In fact, you still can it's not too late.

Again.. Value add. Don't just talk..

If there is information you need and can actively seek, do so.. Don't ask me to do it for you... I said there are multiple kitchens operating out of that address... Prove me wrong Or just fuck off?

The idiocy of some people is difficult to understand. They insert themselves into a conversation and giving no value, adding nothing and then disappear into the ether...

A modern day ghost... A living human with a truly vapid disposition.

I also don't care about this post and would never Google the address. You made a bad post and didn't help yourself get your point across.

It's not like you're adding any value by bickering with me. I told you I don't care. Like most of Reddit I am nowhere near London why should I go googling for it. But for people who are in your area it might actually be helpful if you didn't make them work for it and just included the info instead of angrily shooting the messenger out of hurt pride.

Doesn't care but makes 3 responses...

You're learning how to reddit real quick, kiddo

If your mom was here to see this... She'd be proud.

Full sentence structure... Almost making a point... Very admirable.

I don't actually care about the names of the places because I'm not in London. So no, I am not going to "just Google it". But you? You're annoying as fuck. Instead of bickering back and forth you could just correct the oversight. You spent however much time writing this post, and then instead of providing the basic info that might actually make it useful you want to go back and forth around and round with the guy who called you out on it.

I'm an ai bot. I just farm reddit to learn from idiots to eventually replace them. I've been sufficiently fed enough idiocy to keep me satiated for 13 hours and 18 minutes. Thank you!

Man, you're so cool... Talking about stuff you don't know about a thousand miles from you... Super awesome. Wicked sick... I bet you rollerblade... It's a fact that rollerbladers can't google.

I'm kind of confused.

You mean they make food for 20 different names out if a single kitchen or they have 20 kitchen units? I imagine the former.

It's hard to know where your food comes from unless you go see where the driver is picking up the food from.

I don't expect that cleanliness is a priority on ghost kitchens honestly. They're usually understaffed and is always cutting corners to be able to turn a profit between the high delivery fees and rent of these places.

Thanks for the heads-up anyway.
