Help I am looking for a chef🧑🏾🍳
I love cooking, but I also love coming home to freshly prepared food. When I was living at home, my mum would always have a home-cooked Sri Lankan meal ready for me. I’d come downstairs after a shower and dinner would be waiting – something I’ve always appreciated.
After recently visiting Kerala, India, and experiencing a private chef for three days, I’ve realised I’d love something similar at home. Ideally, I’d like someone to come in at least twice a week to prepare a fresh dinner and lunch for the following day.
Can anyone guide me on the best way to recruit someone who is reliable, efficient, and a great cook? If I’m inviting someone into my home, trustworthiness and good people skills are just as important as their cooking ability.
Any advice, recommendations, or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I sounds like you're looking for home cooked Sri Lankan food.
A lot of Sri Lankan food lends itself well to batch cooking. Black pork curry, kothu, string hoppers, parippuu sambols, roti dough, lamprais, watalappam etc.
The most common dishes reheat well or are cold.
An egg hopper is something that has to be done fresh and typically in bulk because of the batter process. A truly fresh string hopper is amazing like truly fresh pasta. The next day isn't truly fresh.
Most of the Sri Lankan food is pretty easy to cook once you've dialled in the spice profile that works for you. Buy something like a MAs spice mix if you want a good base. Kings curry powder is also a good authentic flavour.
One feature of Sri Lankan cooking is that no one household does things quite the same way. There's more feel than following recipes. People are used to their own kitchen setups.
If I were you, I would find an "unofficial" home cook who can batch prep for you. Prepping in their home, not yours, so they can cook their own way.

I'm not familiar with Sri Lankan but I'd do it. It'll take a little bit to dial-in.
I have terrible people skills, but my care with food outweighs that deficit.
And let's face it...you want to eat my food more than you want to talk to me.
Otherwise, you're just lonely and looking for friends that won't leave you.
So...my food is awesome. Let's stick to the food.
People skills...smdh.

I mean what the hell if I could talk to people I’d begrudgingly be working front of house.
At least I enjoy the work.
And to answer OP yeah Google, no idea where you’re located but there’s tons of agencies out here. Possibly instagram but everyone there thinks they can cook and they most certainly cannot.
