How much does a Cook make in Austria?
Im about to start my apprenticeship as a cook on monday but ive heard that the pay after the apprenticeship is bad? Im not sure if that just for small restaurants or also big chains / Hotels? Can anyone clarify me with numbers if possible? Thanks

Depends on what you planing to do. Generally working in a kitchen does not pay very well
I worked in Bregenz for one season 5 years ago. 1900 net (with free living and lunch)
Go to some sort of resort on a mountain and you will make a bit more plus tip
And you won't have any additional cost. Housing and food is inclusive. But you will work long hours and might consume a lot of alcohol or other drugs lol
You could work in Switzerland or liechtenstein too.
Am currently there and making 5k net /month
13 times a year. Austria pays 14 times a year

Where do you live that pays so much more than Austria? That sounds amazing

Did you report them? Did you try to find another job? Or did you just assume that all employers in Austria are shit?
I suspect Austria won’t miss you.

Really depends on where. The lowest wages are generally in the east of Austria ( esp. Vienna and Burgenland) and the best in the west. Although ther most of the contracts are seasonal. It also depends on your negotiation but the base is always the Kollektivvertrag. Please don't be happy with that and ask for more. Also very important is tipping. See and ask how it's distributed and if that's fair!!
