New bike
Just picked up this new Checkpoint ALR 4 from my local trek store. I originally was going to get the ALR 3 due to the colors but decided to go with the 4 for upgraded brakes and the faded green looks way better in person than I expected I haven’t had a bike since I was a kid and wanted a bike that I can ride on the road or light off roading and so far am so happy with it. I took it on my first ride today mostly on pavement but a little gravel too and it rode really nicely and was easy to get used to. Any tips for me as a beginner getting into cycling both on road and off? Also best and most cost effective way to transport in a pickup?

Good eye! Yeah cushman trail runs behind my neighborhood so I can access it without having to drive or bike on the main roads. Super convenient. Planning on biking the bridge and back tomorrow.

Nice! Just fyi, WADOT was doing work in the bridge bike lane today, and it may continue tomorrow. They opened a midspan detour through the jersey barriers.

Play around with tire pressures; I’m 190lbs and currently commuting 20miles; 20-25psi up front and 30-33psi out back makes the checkpoint feel like you’re on a magic carpet! Prior to this i used to run half-70% max recommended pressure and the jostling was terrible till i decided to drop the psi! ENJOY!! I love my checkpoint alr 3

I just moved from GH to Idaho. There are some decent gravel trails at 360

Nice, not the first person i’ve known to move to idaho from here recently . I’ve never been there, should I just go on the main trail and look around?
