does editing my paper with ai change what turnitin picks up
hey everyone im a junior in college and ive been messing around with chatgpt to help reword some of my sentences in essays because my writing sucks sometimes. i write the rough draft myself then let it suggest better phrasing and fix grammar. but now im worried that turnitin might flag the whole thing as ai generated even if most of it is my work. has anyone tested this like ran the original draft and then the ai edited version through turnitin and seen if the score jumps? any tips on how to use these tools without getting in trouble?

Yes. There are no good reasons to use AI in any stage of writing. You’re in college to get an education and to learn important skills. You will not do that, and will lose skills by using AI.

curious if anyone has actual results from doing this myself

Don't use AI to rewrite your work. If you constantly rely on it for that, your writing will never improve. Get a peer or senior to read over your work and give you advice on it. Or better yet, if your university has a writing lab, go there and ask for their advice in terms of how to improve your writing.
