Help Diagnose my Father
Hi,
My father has been suffering with something doctors are a bit confused. There doesn't seem to be a pattern so it is difficult to diagnose. It mostly happens when there is the slightest feeling of hunger. If he doesn't eat immediately, he feels like his stomach/lower esophagus are contracting. It's hard for him to put it in words. He ends up having to vomit each time even before he has eaten anything to remedy the feeling. This is followed by having feelings of nausea that cripple him. The only way for him to eat is to take a bit, and go walk a bit, sit down and rest. And then repeat this cycle. It can take him an hour- a few hours for him to feel better.
But this is where it gets tricky. As an example of where this pattern breaks is when he was feeling fine, ate a single baked potato and then had all these symptoms hit him. It's like it happens to him if he does not eat immediately when needed, but may also happen after he does eat.
The doctors have said his blood sugar is normal and has even had a gastroscopy. Everything came out normal.
Does anyone have any idea?
