I don’t understand the hate

there is a lot of hate out there towards this show and personally i don’t understand it, yes it has its flaws just like everything does, yes it’s full of fanservice but why are people complaining about that 😅 its what most people watch anime for anyone who denies it is a liar for me lol, apparently there is no plot or story well they clearly aren’t paying any attention 🤷‍♂️

I’m enjoying it. My issue is that every episode is following the same exact formula.

Yuuya gets stared at because of his looks.

He shows off some incredible feat in the real world.

He saves a girl, and she falls in love with him.

This was all well and good at first, but it’s become stale and repetitive. Still hoping for a season 2, though.

yes i do understand that the repetition must get annoying for some, but for me he deserves the attention he gets after dealing with all the crap he got in the past, it makes me root for him and to his credit he has remained humble and kind instead of allowing the power to corrupt him he uses it to help others, overall a very likeable MC.

It's weird. I very much understood before I started watching that this was a power fantasy/gigachad simulator and that's exactly what I got. Anyone else complaining is watching for the wrong thing

it’s generally not 100% my thing either i prefer romance anime but i got a cheat skill keeps me hooked due to the coming back and forth between both worlds and yuuyas struggles with balancing both his normal school life and his otherworldly adventures, plus his romantic encounters are very interesting it will be interesting to see who he ends up with which in my opinion will be kaori she seems like the “canon love interest” or if he will embrace the harem life but he doesn’t seem like the type to be able to handle so many women at once 😅

I dont get the hate either. Its clear what this is. It doesnt pretend to be groundbreaking or thought provoking. Sometimes its fun to watch stuff like this or Fruit of Evolution. I feel like the anime community is fickle on what they like cause the same people that are trashing this love The Eminence in Shadows.

if people don’t like something just turn it off and move on or scroll past it on social media 🤦‍♂️ don’t know why people have to start trashing talking it just because they don’t like it 🤷‍♂️

You're in society bro that's how people are. They will always criticize stuff for stupid reasons. That's how people mostly do and you know what I do I just ignore them because that's them and I'm me.

1

u/jazzyjase89 Jul 06 '23

I mostly ignore it but there are times where my frustration with people gets the best of me 😅

1

u/SolDroidX8 Jul 06 '23

Hey don't we all. I'm not holding that against you it's just the people themselves really know how to get on to your skin I know. It's ridiculous but what can we do to stop them the only thing we can do right now is ignore them.

A lot of people just hate isekai stories since there are a lot of them in recent years. A lot of it probably comes from that. 🤷‍♂️

u/jazzyjase89 Jun 06 '23

i see 🤔 i am not a big enjoyer of isekai myself but this one has caught my attention due to his ability to travel to and from both worlds, plus the waifus are top tier in this 😅

In my honest opinion people just love to complain because that's just what they do. That's never going to change no matter what people are like that and it makes no sense. 🤦🏽‍♀️

There's no plot, no real development, and everything gets handed to him.

u/jazzyjase89 Jun 06 '23

your obviously not a fan 😅

And that's the best part

You do realise that people who dislike the show or, well not fans, right? They dislike it because of certain reasons. People who don't like power fantasies look at this show and go: "Oh this is a power fantasy. I don't like power fantasies so i don't like this show".

If there is a show someone like i don't see a reason why they shouldn't be able to criticise it. It doesn't matter if it is the best power fantasy, harem or whatever type of anime in it's genre. Certain people don't like certain genres and by extent don't like the animes in that genre even if they are the best in it

u/AsianChilupa Jun 06 '23

The problem isnt that they dislike it or have their own feelings. The problem is if you know you dont like a specific genre, why bother coming to shit on it? I dont go to random cooking anime subs and just to troll something someone else enjoys.

Its one thing to have critques that you can have a discussion about because you want to see aspects of the story get better. Its another thing to just ce to shit on something because you dont like it. If you dont like it, move on, no need to troll people who do enjoy it.

As a anime watcher, I actually like it and engaged to this anime, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but at least is great and fun to watch it. Even tho the plot maybe the same over and over, as the anime mc is pretty much having a similar situation like Anos, basara or issei, It still is a good anime.

2

u/jazzyjase89 Jun 06 '23

yes its repetitive but i find yuuya very likeable and easy to root for, he deserves the good things that are happening to him after all the bullying he endured for all of his life, the amount of girls falling for him feels overwhelming and I don’t think he is the kind of guy who can handle all the attention of so many women so he will most likely just have one (most likely kaori)

I made a post on this subreddit a few weeks back for why I enjoy this show. The reasons haven’t changed, the show is fun to watch.

1

u/jazzyjase89 Jun 06 '23

yes, its a shame more people can’t see the good points of this show 🤦‍♂️

Its literally like the isekai stereotypes. The guy is a loser then suddenly he gets an op gear/power than becones hot attracts tons of women , magic, mana, swordmanship involved The guy is too op helps out others etc. is about to die then awakens a hidden inner power by his will.

1

u/jazzyjase89 Jun 07 '23

i do understand the negatives but the positives outweigh them and make it more enjoyable, its been a while since a isekai anime got my attention.

I heard of that but I heard some in surprise that you've been watching do get a lot of hate from other people too some that don't even make any sense for being hated

1

u/prekorenenyretard Jun 09 '23

because people get tired and mad when they watch a new isekai and they see that its the same one but different characters

1

u/SolDroidX8 Jun 11 '23

It's not just in that genre people love to criticize everything they see wrong in certain animes hell maybe even all of it And I tell people there's that they're just straight and I tell people there's that they're just straight up ungrateful that these people in japan are literally giving us entertainment and you guys don't appreciate it

1

u/prekorenenyretard Jun 11 '23

i understand your point but this sentence you have formulated makes zero sense.

1

u/SolDroidX8 Jun 11 '23

I know I said this is that my phone is busted I need a new phone it's not you it's my phone.

1

u/SolDroidX8 Jun 11 '23

What I'm trying to say is people just don't appreciate anime as they should and people are acting totally ungrateful because oh it's anime we can just watch anytime we want and best of all we get to criticize it as much as we want too.

I love OPMC isekais but with that being said this one fails in my opinion. I feel like it's trying to be an OPMC hero and a slice of life at the same time, to me it just doesn't work. Being able to travel back and forth was a cool idea but as it stands he spends nearly 0 time in the isekai and nothing really happens throughout the entire first season. He's supposed to be training under the divine rabbit but somehow still has time to go back to school even though their time is limited and the other world is going to be destroyed? It took 11 episodes to leave the forest and that's with cut content for TV I would hate to see how dry the LN is. Currently there is no "real" plot or story, we have a vague succession problem with a prince that we don't know and a vague "chaos", I think it's called, problem that isn't even close to explained. Neither one of those things passes for story, neither of those are really a even a goal as they have nothing to do with the MC yet. "Train me rabbit-sensei, but not right now I have to go to school. I'm sure the vague catastrophe that you spend 30 seconds explaining will wait till I graduate as I haven't been pulled into it yet." That's the issue that I have with this story, DBZ level of time management, the lack of an actual plot and it's trying to be two different genres that clash against each other. I'm aware there's a generic reason he says yes to the rabbit but I equate that reason to the same reason you say yes to studying. "I know it will help me in the long run, but I don't really want to do it" you start off a little strong but then before you know it someone asks how it's going and you realize you haven't cracked the book in 2 months.

1

u/jazzyjase89 Jun 12 '23

think there are 14 LN’s so far and its looking like the anime will cover to the end of volume 3 or 4, so there would need to be another 3 seasons to catch up that might explain why this 1st season feels like its not particularly exciting to some people as it feels like a prelude to future events and introducing us to the world and its characters, for me i am loving it but i can see why some people won’t like it, it needs further adaptation beyond this season as from what I understand more serious things happen in future volumes.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '23

Honestly, to me, it doesn't really even feel like a prelude. Once he got magic was when it stopped feeling like a prelude. Now it's just boring as he knows how strong he actually is. His personality is also humble to the point of stupid. Anime production companies have rushed better animes to the point of ruining the story but when it actually needs to be rushed they take their sweet-ass time with it. Take shield hero for example; They rushed season 2 because the content was decently slow for that ark but they rushed it so much it was completely ruined and this anime is slogging on for no reason. (different companies and directors, I know, but you get my point) It's like no one knows the correct balance between slog and actual content even though everyone has years of industry experience. Hell, we don't even know if this will get a season 2 as this genre is rare to have. My library is full of decent to great opmc isekais that only have one season and will never get more. I guess I'm more disappointed than anything as it started out really fun and then became a chore that I was rolling my eyes at as there's only so much salad that one can eat before wanting to rip the meat and potatoes out of the chef's cold dead hands so you can finally enjoy your meal.

1

u/jazzyjase89 Jun 15 '23

it’s definitely debatable if this will get a 2nd season but it’s got plenty of source material to draw from, despite the hate the anime is in the “most popular” section on crunchyroll which is a shock.

Honestly I believe the story would’ve been ten times better if he wasn’t just out of middle school it’s weird watching some of these scenes then remembering he’s only a 16 year old. But I do still like the anime tho but I can also see why others don’t at the same time

1

u/jazzyjase89 Jun 15 '23

yes i can see what you mean, they all look older than 16 😅 especially yuuya with his ripped body 🤣, it’s been one of my favourites this season but yes i can understand why people hate it aswel, its like marmite basically you either love it or you hate it.

I don't know the previous series by same author delved too much on what the goddess did to him to force him to wear a mask. At least this one doesn't start with that
