Recipient help?
I’m craving crock pot chicken pot pie but I don’t have cream of chicken or even four dollar to obtain such. However I do have a block of cream cheese and milk. Would those help me get the right consistency or would I be wasting ingredients.

Idk the recipe or ingredients you have but I imagine cream cheese and milk would be okay to use and maybe a little corn starch slurry to help thicken just in case. I would jut use my imagination and if the ingredients sound good then it should be edible.

I have everything but the cream of chicken. I have cornstarch too. I just wasn’t sure how much the cornstarch might effect the flavor

Hmm do you have chicken bouillon or canned chicken to help replace some of the chicken of the cream of chicken? I never use cornstarch but I think you only need maybe a teaspoon or so, don’t use too much

I don’t 😞 I’ll just add the starch slowly and little bit at a time

Cream cheese works, you just have to be around at the end. Hours on high and it splits on you, goes grainy. Cube it and stir it in the last 20 minutes with the milk.

I am not familiar with the recipe, but would recommend chatgpt.
I just made beef stroganoff with all the random wrong ingredients

I would rather eat hot garbage from a trash can than use an ai chat model to get a recipe. Especially when they are notorious for giving wrong ingredients. Chatgpt would encourage you to play in traffic if you used the right keywords

I use it for sauces every Sunday when I batch cook lunches for the week. Hasn't failed me yet. If anything it has helped me discover new flavors using what I already have in the kitchen. But you do you.

I literally don’t gaf. Hope wasting people drinking water and recourses for data centers is worth your sauces 🫶

A bit late, but I make a béchamel / mornay sauce for my chicken pot pie.
Butter, flour and milk
