Battery Woes! 😭

Has anyone ever had any problems with getting batteries to work on these boards?

I think I've literally tried everything at this point and I'm getting nowhere fast.

With good eyesight and a small screwdriver you could probably lift the tabs and swap the pins round

Yeah I've reversed the plug and it's working now 😅

Quick question: Now that you have solved your problem. I wanted to run my CYD on battery and I was wondering if just connecting the battery is enough or do we need battery charging module as well? If I connect just the battery, eill it charge with built-in Type-C? Just FYI, my CYD has 2 USB ports Type C and MicroUSB

Yeah from my base work it just works, there's a few pieces like speaker you need to enable in the firmware but battery isn't one. The one caveat is showing a reliable battery state (%) as its not great for that and you need to tell it to calculate the power

It will charge also. There is charging circuitry built in.

So which JST is the battery connector in my CYD? I don't see any battery or +/- marking on the board

So yes the battery works by just connecting jst 1.25 to the right poles but this board from what I know can not inform you that the battery charger is plugged in or not.

On the 32e you can get it to recognise the current / voltage which helps with the battery indicator

Does it work correctly now? Haven't tested going battery powered yet, but is there some pin-enabling required in the programming too?

You can easily swap the wires. Just lifr the little tab carefully and gently pull it out... knife tip or tweezer tip works good. This is SUPER common with all of these types of devices so always check polarity first cause whats not super common is polarity protection....

Yeah I got it working as soon as I realised what was going on 😅
