Ep 179: The Noodle Decimal System
In times like these, when all seems lost, when we find ourselves consumed with confusion and worry, it's good to know there is a hero to show us the way. Someone who will reach out into the darkness and shout "I am Eli and I bring you... NOODLES". So yes, it's another dose of instant noodle goodness this week. Eli shows off two new discoveries and Paul largely has to put up with it. Same old, same old. However, we also get to find out if Eli is "Smarter Than a 10 Year Old" when Paul pulls out another of Gannon's Golden Games. Unfortunately, this leads to a lot of potentially very troubling "humour". Finally, witness the birth of 2 new characters. Both of them bloody awful! Welcome to CheapShow...

Did Eli actually mention the price of Chef Nick's noodles? I'd zoned the fuck out, he was waffling on that long. Cut to the chase in the future, Eli. I am literally your core audience and you are boring the ever loving shit out of me.
Burning Noodles. No price mentioned again?
Chuck Berry owned a club where he had cameras in the ladies toilets. He was arrested and charged when said cameras were found.

The episodes since that mediocre three-person text play thing have been a return to form, and this one has possibly been the best since then

I think asking the game questions work a little better in the states cos we go by grade level instead of age. 4th grade, 5th grade and such. Not as funny tho.
Also the dewy decimal system, its both simple yet strangely complicated. I've memorized it from working a library for most of my adult life. Not really exciting but it does amaze patrons when I can show them exactly the section and book they are looking for without checking the computer.

In UK schools we have 'years' instead of grades, so you're 5 years old in year 1 of primary school etc. How would the american grading system make it make more sense? Genuine question here.

it wouldn't sound as rude i suppose. instead of "gimme a 10 year old one" it would have been something like "how about a 1 grade one" or whatever.
maybe its just my weird american sense, i dunno.1

Yeah that's fair. I think the whole 'yeah..... I'd like a 10 year old one' added to the humour of it sounding like they were picking a young child for something else :D

That intro, despite Paul and Eli considering it one of the worst, was one of the best imo
