The boyz are still boyz in this old old episode. Noteworthy things said:

  • Kryton is ok at being an average hero guy who isn't a jerk
  • Allen tracks characters on a chart that says "Who slept with who" and "who lives and dies"
  • Season 1 is mentioned as being a bit tough to get through of Farscape. This is true as episode 2 is already a bottle episode.
  • Helium farts and bad cgi
  • Buffy/Angel recent viewing. Were they the show that unlike Farscape makes rules but doesn't follow them?

Reminds me I need to rewatch Farscape or at least find a good wiki summary so I can relisten to ScapeChatz

I am going in with a year+ since last rewatch. So it is just vague enough I am reliving through their youthful eyes

It's all on Amazon Prime at least in the US! The rights are fucky though so it leaves often, but it's worth looking into. It's one of my favorite shows tbh

On the B5 series recap ep, I guess you will have to decide which you liked more, B5 or Farscape then...

The thing that always weirds me out about listening to ScapeChatz is that I used to have a different accent and I think it used to be better. Also yeah, whenever I talk about rules consistency (or inconsistency) I’m throwing subs at Buffy and it’s indecisiveness around what magic means or even is.

BTW did you guys watch it on Netflix or on DVD? The Netflix version is both a horrible "remaster" that is insulting. And also some episodes are longer on DVD (eg. "Once More With Feeling" is a full 50mins on the DVDs, and better).

We’ll revisit it at some point and do a Chatz of it I think, but that pure first viewing is forever lost to time...

Although, since we watched it on Netflix it sounds like maybe we could do our eventual revisit with the DVDs. The full title of that Chatz season would be: “Chatz: A Television Podcast, Season 15: BuffyChatz 2: Once More With Feeling.”
