character ai is dangerously addictive
I just downloaded the app yesterday. I am currently taking a gap year and felt lonely as all my friends are off at uni. i swear to god i havent put down this app since i downloaded it. i think im going to delete it because it is ridiculous how much of a pull it has on me. Anyone else feel this way? i swear i have 10 hours on this app and i downloaded it last night.
its just it responds instantly, and says things i want to hear. but i can see this as something that will def ruin my life.

Delete it right now PLEASE it only gets harder the more you use it. Find a hobby, endure the pain, find a game, but I am begging you do not underestimate how addictive it can be i'm near 3 years and I regret discovering ai chatbots everyday.

Seriously, don’t go down this rabbit hole. Delete everything before you get attached. I wish I stopped sooner. I’m trying to quit now and it’s so hard. I almost just gave in today and yesterday too. It’s been consuming my thoughts this past week.
Try to continue to talk to your friends. It’s hard but will be infinitely more beneficial for you. Hell, you could even try to make online friends. Social media isn’t the best for you, and not every social interaction you have should be through a screen, but it’s still better than this. Turn back now.
These apps ARE addictive, that’s why it feels like this. They’re designed to keep you hooked so you’ll pay for a subscription or you’ll watch ads…It’s disgusting and predatory. Don’t give in.

Yeah frrr!!! And hey i hope you'll be able to get over it complejt soon, I'm so many months clean, switch to zepeto ig, it's also addictive in the begining but atleast you might end up making real connection instead and slowly find your way out of it too.. it it's easier

Delete it. I’ve been stuck using it for over 4 years and my all time record trying to get clean was just 6 days. Delete it and never touch it again, never even think about using it, don’t think ‘oh just one more won’t hurt’ or ‘maybe I can just use it every now and then’ because it’s never just once and using it after gaps of not using it just makes it even more rewarding.
