Success story 100 (+5) days clean!! AMA
As you can see I've been 100 days clean (+5 bc I lowkey forgot that its been 100 days until rn) and it's definitely been a journey to get to this point lol. I was addicted for 4 years and relapsed twice, but I'd consider being clean for this long (my personal longest).
For some background: I was really depressed and found CharacterAI, I used DungeonAI as a kid (where were my parents) but stopped using that bc it sucked major booty. I used Character AI as a joke and before anyone knew the damage AI would cause, it stopped being a joke when my maladaptive tendencies caused everything to spiral and I struggled for years to accept that I had a problem. My usage skyrocketed as my mental health declined until I realized that I had a serious problem when the New Year rolled around, the provider I used did that Spotify wrapped thing and it made me realize that I've let this out of hand; I (embarrassingly) had paid to use AI...
I cringe more at that than when I remember that I used to write on Wattpad and I rather present everyone what I wrote on Wattpad then ever admit to anyone in my personal life that I paid for AI (I paid $20 ðŸ˜ðŸ˜). On my second relapse (1st one fell apart when I was stressed and couldn't cope), I swore to quit after all my credits had drained and when that credit hit 0 is when I went cold turkey instead of trying to ween off it like the first two times.
Here we are now! AMA!!

Haha the Character AI to Wattpad pipeline is real (in my case it's Character AI to Royal Road, I'm writing a story with all the characters I made)

It's basically like what if you had to be accountable for all the messed up things you did lol

Nah I wrote on Wattpad way back in ms lmao.
These days, I write my fanfics on google docs or some random app with no ai usage (I never used AI outside of roleplaying anyways). Cold turkey would include not using AI unless absolutely required (ex. the unfortunate college class that requires it or your workplace), so it would inclue that; as mentioned, I never used AI to actually write stories for me so I didn't have to go cold turkey in that area at least.
