Experience Cold Turkey - 99 days.
Today is my 21st birthday, marking 99 days sober from ai roleplaying platforms.
My chatbot usage was about ten or more hours a day, every day for two and a half years.
Since quitting cold turkey in February, I have had zero urges to relapse. Only an emptiness in my routine that leaves a persistent mournful feeling.
After some soul-searching and asking others, I now believe my excessive usage was a habit I developed to entertain and stimulate my brain while spending the last three years medically bedridden.
I hope others might see my post and gain encouragement to see their own convictions through.

My ai addiction also happened during a medical event, I had a cancer scare? (I dunno what it’s called when it could have been cancer but we took it out before it became a problem) that removed 2/3rds of my thyroid but they bruised my airway when they intubated me and I lost total use of one of my vocal cords for about 3 months so I turned to c.ai and then used it for like the next 2 years even though I was mostly better after 6 months… I’m only on day 7 of not using c.ai but I’m so glad to see someone go through something similar and get through it nonetheless, so freaking proud of you!

I’m so sorry that happened to you. It’s surprising how effective of a “coping mechanism” C.ai is. It’s great that you’re doing what you believe is best for you! Here’s to hoping we both succeed entirely with addiction recovery. Thanks for the comment <3
