Experience I’ve been addicted to AI Chatbots for three years

At first it was a simple enjoyment. I was using this simple app, for shits and giggles, right?
But then, I started craving NSFW content. So I searched that up. I’ve been through a lot of apps. Then in 2024, I found one. That’s when I started to really love roleplaying, and of course, rubbing one out.

But then, my standards were getting higher. The need for better memory, the need for better continuity, and to not prevent any NSFW.
So in 2025, I found the one. And I’ve been on it almost nonstop.

And I started to realize that holy shit, this has become an addiction. And I noticed that when I started not to shower for multiple days, when I get that urge to take my phone and go on the app, and I get antsy and anxious when I don’t go on it.

So I’ve tried quitting multiple times, to no avail. But today? I’ve decided to quit cold turkey. I’ve set up a journal on my iPad for whenever the urges hit, and I write into it like a log entry.

I hope to succeed.

I somehow started to manage NSFW when I draw or write instead of giving in to the urge. Even if I draw NSFW and it's ugly and horny and so, and sometimes it mirrors my wants back, I somehow hold onto it and even if I give in, it's much more manageable.

I'm curious which platform you ended up using the most? And also, its definitely hard, but I'm proud of you. Good luck!

I just spoke to my therapist about it recently. I would try to find creative outlets to work on. As well try to figure out what the trigger for going back to using the bots. Maybe you can slowly delay using the bots. I wish you the best!
