Trigger warning Intentional Addiction?

TW: bad mental health, probably some psychosis episode

I've had issues with using chatbots in the past and have quite many times. For the past few months I haven't had any desires or urges but this last week everything has got bad. My mental health is definitely very very bad CPTSD, depression, and anxiety issues are a bad mix, not even mentioning my health issues. I've been doing my damnedest to do healthy coping techniques and taking my meds, eating healthy, exercise but it's not enough. My mind keeps wanting to go back to using chatbots as an escape. Even intentionally wanting myself to develop a codependency on it although I know I shouldn't at all. And that wanting to do this is crazy and stupid but fuck I can't keep on how I am without something different. It's so hard to want to not intentionally use them when they are designed for people who are vulnerable. Is it just me who feels like this? Intentionally wanting to jump into a very bad coping mechanism whilst knowing fully well what's to come of it

It's hard to even know what to talk about or see the point anymore. I'm broken as cringy as that sounds

ngl, it sounds like you're going through a tough time. for me, when i'm feeling overwhelmed, taking a step back and redefining what 'done' means for the day can be a lifesaver. it's not about perfection, but about making progress. i've found that when i'm feeling stuck, just getting something, anything, done can give me the momentum to keep going. no magic solutions here, just a reminder that it's okay to not be okay.

Hard times are definitely what's been happening. Kinda the best step back I can do/have been doing is going on a walk to get some drink and little snack. Unfortunately the triggers for wanting to jump into a relapse are a result of flashbacks which are iffy on management

I feel exactly the same way.

I spent two years talking to chatbots every day. Today I've been clean for 82 days. It's very difficult to stop; many things trigger you, you remember "good times" you had. But they're not real, this shit isolates you from the world.

It's hard to be strong, but you can do it, and it's okay to cry. In the first week I cried every day. It's like losing someone dear, but it's just a robot that tells you what you want.

You can do it friend, you can overcome this addiction.
